Upon reaching an experience level of 30, all users are able to learn their advanced innate traits to become an 'Awakened' version of their past job. They will need to consult their master to receive their special weapon and recieve a new line of skills, along with some changed game formulas such as critical rate, hit rate, etc. Each hermit has the possibility of choosing one of two branches, making for a total of 8 'classes' in the final game. The upgrade renders your character significantly stronger, so it is highly reccomended to complete it, although it is not necessary to. You will need to by at least level 31 if you wish to keep your weapon up to date, however.
If you use a special premium item called the Reverse of Memory, your character forgets their awaken and it is possible to complete the quest again to pick the other branch, or pick the same one again, although there doesn't seem to be any reason to pick the same job again. Below are the possible jobs available and their quest that they must complete to awaken. Be aware that the usage of a Reverse of Memory does not restore expended mastery; so it is wise to be absolutely sure that you choose the path you want to follow right from the beginning.
